After a disappointing start to their African Cup of Nations finals, Cameroon will be looking to get all the three points when they play the tournament debutants Guinea-Bissau in the second game of Group A in the AFCON 2017.
Cameroon is a historical national team, with a lot of good players in squad, like Moukandjo, N’Jie or Aboubakar. In their last 23 games, they lost only three times against France, Ivory Coast and Nigeria. They scored a lot of goals and they’re clearly one of the most respected and most organized team of Africa.
The pressure is on Cameroon who are far from full strength at this tournament but they will feel this is more winnable than the Gabon game they have next up and they ought to be positive in their approach.
Guinea-Bissau scored in injury time to force a 1-1 draw with host nation Gabon on Saturday, an excellent result in their first ever match in an AFCON finals. They came into the tournament as an underdog but their form in qualifying had been very impressive and the draw with Gabon (0-0 half time) suggests they will be more competitive than the pundits suggested.
Guinea-Bissau has a very poor national team, formed by a lot of players of down leagues from Portugal, and really, for them, participate in this competition is already a success. All the country comes out to the street after the draw against Gabon and I’m pretty sure it will their unique point.
